Don't worry. That is why we do the assessment so that we can match you with a class of similar dogs. Our volunteers have lots of experience of integrating all dogs into our classes.
For the assessment, bring your dog's vaccination certificate.
For the lessons your dog will just need a collar and lead and some excellent treats in an easily accessible treat bag or pocket. Start by keeping aside some of their normal kibble, and we will work up from there. It's a good idea to bring far more than you think you will need. If your dog is toy motivated, bring their favourite toy.
Not a problem. For the puppy foundation class, we will work out the best way to help you. For all other classes, because you pay on the door, you can miss as many as you need to.
Young people from the age of 10 - 16 are welcome to train their dogs in our classes. A parent or guardian must be present in the hall at all times to supervise.
Due to limited space in the hall, we have a one dog, one handler policy (with the exception of handlers who are under 16 who need to have a parent or guardian present, or handlers with special needs). To be most successful, all the family should use the same commands and be consistent with training, so sharing what is learned is really important. If it helps, the family can take it in turns to be the handler on alternate Monday's.
